About Me

Growing up in Westchester, New York, Rebecca was acutely aware of how different she was from others. Despite facing constant bullying, she managed to find solace in a group of like-minded artistic and intellectual friends. She fronted metal bands throughout her teenage years and worked on plays and musicals any chance she could get. Those years contributed greatly to her life’s mission to never be bullied again, but rather be a voice to stand up to those who bully others.
Upon graduating from SUNY Geneseo in upstate New York with a B.A in Theatre, Rebecca moved to NYC. There, she began her career acting, directing and producing. Rebecca sought to deepen her craft and attended the LAByrinth Master Class, which led her to study Meisner technique with Maggie Flanigan at the Maggie Flanigan Studio.
Shortly after graduating from the Maggie Flanigan Studio, she produced her first short film The Ribbon, a horror film which defies the typical role of women in horror movies. In 2014, Rebecca co-founded ReelMavens, LLC, along with her producing partner, Raushanah Simmons. ReelMavens is a film production company dedicated to promoting diversity and the participation of women in film, both in front of and behind the camera. Check out more at www.reelmavens.com
Rebecca is a member of The FilmmakeHers, New York Women in Film and Television and the theatre ensemble, Primitive Grace. She is a vegetarian who grows her own veggies, cares for her rescue dog, Elvis, shops locally, cycles long distances to raise money for various non-profits, and actively advocates for social change.
Kindness, determination and strength will always lead the path to a better world.
